FAQ

Below are some common questions associated with the purchase of our products in BlackBerry® AppWorld™.  If you find that your question is not answered below, please feel free to contact us using our Help & Support page.


Q. I am having an issue downloading your theme from App World™, can you send me a download link?
A. No. We do not provide alternative download links.  All themes must be purchased or downloaded using App World™.  Please make sure you are in an area with sufficient coverage.

Q. I keep getting “not available for download in App World™.
A. In some cases, it has been discovered that updates (from AppWorld obtained apps) require additional steps in order to install the update. If the update will not install, please attempt this:

  1. Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications > highlight the app > BBKey > Delete
  2. AppWorld > MyWorld > Login > highlight the app (if it shows at all, in any state) > BBKey > Delete
  3. Use either your PC (via Mass Storage Mode) or your BB (via Media > BBKey > Explore) and find any references (folders, files) to the app. Delete whatever you find. Search both your Device Memory as well as your Media Card.

Q. Your theme says free in App World™ but when I go to download, it wants me to pay or it says “download not available”.  What’s up with that?
A. You just missed our surprise free promotion and it is no longer free.  Please clear the cache on your device and reset your app world application by pressing and holding down your alt key and typing the letters rst while inside the app.  Or, you may visit App World from your PC to purchase.  If you want to stay in the loop, you can follow us on twitter.com/mobstermdesign

Q. I purchased your theme awhile back and I had to reboot my device.  Now it’s telling me “download not available” when I go to reinstall.  Why does it keep telling me that?
A. You downloaded our theme when we were offering a free promo.  You will no longer be able to download the theme in your account due to limitations set by App World when we reset the price.  Go to App World from your computer and sync your device to reset your account.   We recommend that you backup your device when you download new software so you always have a copy.

Q. I have an update in App World for one of your themes and it is charging me to update.  I thought your updates were free?
A. Our updates ARE free but for paid versions only.  If you downloaded any of our themes when it was a free promotion, you will need to purchase the update. If you purchased the theme, please reset your app world app on your device or go to App World using your computer.

Q. I received a notification from App World™ that I have an update.  Why is it telling me that it is not available when I try to download?
A. You can retrieve your update by syncing your device with App World™ using your PC.  You will need your BlackberryID.  Follow the onscreen instructions.  If you downloaded our theme when it was a free promo, you will need to purchase the update.  Our updates are only free for paid versions.

Q. Can I receive a file of a theme to be installed using desktop manager?
A. No.  You will need a data plan on your device to purchase any of our themes.

Q. After purchasing a theme, how do I install it?
A. Themes are installed OTA(Over the Air) after the OTA installation you go to your applications menu,select the options icon, and then scroll down to themes. If installed correctly your theme will appear in the themes list. Simply select the theme you would like to use. It is always recommended to do a battery pull following a them switch.

Q. Can I return a theme for a refund if I don’t like it?
A. As with most OTA purchases, we cannot give refunds. So please make sure to read the description and view the screen shots, and have purchased the correct version for your phone.

Q. Why can’t I see the Theme in my Theme list?
A. If the theme does not show up in your themes list at Options > Themes this may be a sign that you’ve installed a theme that is not compatible with your device OS or Model. Upgrading your OS to meet the minimum OS the theme was designed for may solve the problem. You can also try resetting your device, or turning off your device and pulling the battery for a few minutes. Put it back in and see if the theme is now showing.

Q. Some of my icons have disappeared since installing the new theme. What do I do?
A. Setting a new theme means that you’re basically resetting your application icons to their default location. You just need to move them back to where you prefer them once again. I suggest going to the applications area and hitting the menu button, then scrolling to and selecting “Show All” to make sure none are hidden during your re-customization.

Q. Can I request custom changes to the theme I purchased?
A. Yes, but we charge a fee for any changes.
